What is design thinking?

Design thinking is a crucial and innovative process, perceived as a part of change management which needs to be revised time and again. The purpose it to provide solution to changing customer needs and achieve the latest and most innovative product design to avoid becoming outdated in the market.

What difference does it make?

Design thinking develops value in the business and promotes development of the product and brand building. It is user oriented and increases the competence of the company. The designing is aligned with user experience and situation, simultaneously targeted towards making the experience smoother. Along with customer experience, the process improves employee experience too by refining skills. New or old, all organizations from a wide industrial range find design thinking to be a valuable planning process of sustainability. It is all about ‘thinking outside the box’, tactics that can help to tackle ill-defined or unknown problems and work towards what matters to their users.

I have been more than 12 years in digital marketing industries, and have help more than 240 companies to grow their business.

The process of design thinking-

Designing has a process, which includes identifying the changes to be made, defining them, ideating, building solution, and then implementing and testing . Let’s understand the importance of each step –

  1. Designing requires to start  from the scratch, that is finding the problem to which solution should be provided. At times the problem is different from what we think, therefore in depth research should be conducted to grasp all problem causing elements.
  2. After identifying the problem, think of yourself as the user and define the problem you face. Once you define the hinderance, overcoming it becomes easy.
  3. Now you have to get the creative side out and create solutions. Think of as many ideas as you can, consult people, research and prepare a list of solutions.
  4. Pick the most feasible solution after studying it in depth and discussing with your team. The company will be investing time, money and energy on it, so improve it further if you see scope and come up with the final version of it.
  5. Implement it and test through feedbacks. Look for smooth functioning and  recording the desired result.

Design thinking can be used to tackle any problem which requires a creative solution. You can develop new strategies or reinvent the old ones, the process keeps adding value to the company.
